About the position
The Full Time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Belmont is responsible for providing medical and health services to inpatients, focusing on medication administration, evaluations, and mental health assessments. This role is integral to ensuring the well-being of patients in a state-of-the-art facility designed for comfort and healing. The psychiatrist will also have opportunities for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, contributing to the educational mission of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services to patients at the facility.
- Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as corporate and facility policies.
- Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and offer medical recommendations.
- Evaluate patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
- Treat or direct treatment of patients using various psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
- Review and complete medical information for individual care plans and document services in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidential documentation, compliance, and billing according to policy and procedures.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
- One or more years' post-graduate degree practice preferred.
- Licensed in the state in which the facility operates.
- Board certification in psychiatry.
- Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions.
