About the position
As a leader in deepwater drilling, Diamond Offshore provides contract drilling services and fresh perspectives to anticipating and solving deepwater challenges globally. The Roustabout position is a critical role within the drilling operations, requiring a proactive approach to support the Crane Operator and ensure the smooth functioning of rig operations. The Roustabout will be involved in various tasks that are essential for maintaining safety and efficiency on the rig. This position demands a commitment to health, safety, and environmental initiatives, as well as adherence to the Diamond Offshore Global Excellence Management System (G.E.M.S.). The role is physically demanding and requires the ability to work in a challenging offshore environment for extended periods, typically on a 28-day rotation. The successful candidate will be expected to participate fully in all safety programs and pre-tour weekly safety meetings, ensuring that all operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner. The Roustabout will also be responsible for general housekeeping duties and material preservation activities, contributing to the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the rig.
Responsibilities
- Assist in handling of freight to and from helicopters and boats
- Assist on drilling floor during drilling operations
- Properly rig up and maintain scaffolding, ladders, and all other types of equipment or devices utilized to lift personnel
- Perform general housekeeping duties and material preservation activities
- Participate fully in all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and safety programs and in pre-tour weekly safety meetings
- Follow Diamond Offshore Global Excellence Management System (G.E.M.S.)
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Willing and able to be away from home for a 28-day rotation offshore on the rig
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
- Possess or able to obtain a valid Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC)
Nice-to-haves
- 1 or more years' experience on an offshore drilling vessel
- 1 or more years' experience working in an industrial environment
- 1 or more years' experience in crane operations
