About the position

The Shred-it Route Driver at Stericycle is responsible for providing exceptional service to clients by managing document destruction needs. This role involves transporting supplies and materials safely, loading and unloading the delivery vehicle, and ensuring compliance with local and federal laws. The position operates Monday to Friday, with a pay rate of $17.55 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information.
• Conduct pre/post-trip checks and driver check-in on the assigned truck.
• Report maintenance issues to Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up.
• Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize injury and damage.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service.
• Complete and maintain DOT logs when applicable.
• Maintain a high level of security when emptying consoles and collection totes.
• Service accounts using a hand-held device, ensuring accuracy in barcoding and locations.
• Manage assigned routes to ensure timely and accurate collection of confidential materials.
• Handle and respond to customer problems and inquiries expediently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in driving shred/box trucks and route management.
• Current driver's license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in customer service roles.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations.
