The Route Sales Representative is a vital role responsible for the delivery and restocking of products to retail stores and wholesale distribution locations. The representative will be tasked with safely loading, unloading, and delivering products at each account, ensuring that all deliveries are made accurately and on time. The role involves driving a truck over established routes to deliver, stock, and stage products at customer locations, which requires a good understanding of the delivery process and the ability to navigate various routes effectively. In addition to delivery responsibilities, the Route Sales Representative will set up merchandise and sales promotion displays, delivering promotional materials to customers to enhance product visibility and sales. It is essential to verify shipment accuracy and ensure that products are in salable condition upon delivery. The representative will also be responsible for resolving any discrepancies or customer complaints that may arise during the delivery process, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. The role requires the collection of empty containers, rejected, or unsold merchandise for return, as well as the completion of daily inventory, orders, delivery invoices, and proof of delivery as required. The Route Sales Representative must perform Motor Vehicle Inspections on the truck to conform to DOT regulations and company policy, assisting with routine maintenance as needed. Maintaining a courteous demeanor toward customers, working cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors, and adhering to established policies and management direction are crucial aspects of this position.
