About the position

UniFirst is seeking a driven customer-focused Route Trainee to support the Service Department. This role involves assisting Route Service Representatives with loading and unloading trucks, delivering and picking up customer products, and maintaining vehicle safety. The position is dynamic and physical, requiring work both indoors and outdoors during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with weekends and holidays off. This position serves as an entry point for individuals looking to establish a career in Route Service, with potential advancement to a commissioned Route Service Representative role based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Support Route Service Representatives with loading and unloading trucks.
• Deliver and pick up customer products along assigned routes.
• Maintain vehicle safety and appearance.
• Drive a company vehicle to customer stops.
• Perform inventory audits and ensure accurate invoice inventories.
• Attend daily account collections with the Route Service Manager.
• Assist with Account Receivable collections.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Reliable transportation is necessary.
• Must meet pre-employment DOT physical requirements.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Effective communication and language skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior customer service experience.
