About the position

The Routine Facilitator I is responsible for leading and guiding a team to establish a productive, high-performing, and safety-conscious working environment in a manufacturing setting. This role focuses on safety, environmental standards, production efficiency, cost management, quality assurance, and people management through the application of GBS principles. The position involves training, auditing, and coaching to ensure compliance with established standards and continuous improvement in processes and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Control the workflow within the area of responsibility to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Facilitate training sessions for operators on compliance standards and routine methodologies.
  • Coach and develop the team in failure analysis and support QIS methodology.
  • Develop performance expectations, audit performance, document findings, and establish corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with operators on GBS processes, audits, 5S initiatives, and preventive maintenance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct trend analysis and compile symptoms and failures for review.
  • Administer all safety activities and coordinate emergency preparedness practices.
  • Track performance on control items and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Design and implement new standards and update existing ones as necessary.
  • Oversee daily routine management activities and support GBS processes/tools.

Requirements

  • Two-year college degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Material Science.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of steel manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Experience with heavy mill machinery and related equipment.
  • Previous experience in scrap processing, melting, casting, rolling, maintenance, finishing, shipping/warehouse operations, and supervisory roles.
  • Basic knowledge of business systems and complex technical processes.
  • Ability to train and guide people effectively.
  • Solid presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong people management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GBS principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with safety management processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of performance auditing and corrective action development.
