About the position

The Routing and Siting Specialist at Canacre plays a crucial role in identifying optimal locations for energy projects by evaluating environmental requirements and ensuring compliance with regulations. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders and the use of advanced GIS tools to analyze geographical data, contributing to the planning and development of large-scale energy projects across North America.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential routes or sites for projects, considering land use, environmental sensitivity, and proximity to existing infrastructure.
• Oversee projects to ensure consistency with client's scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards on deliverables.
• Collaborate with landowners, government agencies, environmental groups, and the public to gather input and address concerns during the planning process.
• Use GIS, ESRI, and other mapping tools to analyze geographical data, evaluate terrain, and assess land conditions for potential projects.
• Work closely with engineers, environmental planners, and regulatory bodies to integrate routing and siting considerations into the overall project plan.
• Experience with Certificate of Public Necessity/Hearing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Land Use Planning, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a relevant field.
