About the position
The Routing and Siting Specialist in the environmental field at Canacre is responsible for identifying optimal locations for projects by evaluating environmental requirements, identifying constraints, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders and the use of GIS and mapping tools to analyze geographical data for project planning.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate potential routes or sites for projects considering land use, environmental sensitivity, and proximity to existing infrastructure.
- Oversee the project to ensure consistency with client's scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining quality standards on deliverables.
- Collaborate with landowners, government agencies, environmental groups, and the public to gather input and address concerns during the planning process.
- Use GIS, ESRI, and other mapping tools to analyze geographical data, evaluate terrain, and assess land conditions for potential projects.
- Work closely with engineers, environmental planners, and regulatory bodies to integrate routing and siting considerations into the overall project plan.
- Experience with Certificate of Public Necessity/Hearing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Land Use Planning or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a related field.
