About the position

Peabody Properties seeks an experienced Roving Maintenance Technician to join its team of property management professionals at apartment communities in the Taunton and Tiverton Areas. The Maintenance Technician's role requires effective and careful evaluation in response to a broad range of maintenance needs to assist the Service Manager with the efficient operation of property. This position is crucial for ensuring that the properties are well-maintained and that residents have a safe and comfortable living environment. The technician will be responsible for performing routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance tasks, which include but are not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, locks and keys, basic carpentry, painting, drywall repair, janitorial duties, grounds maintenance, and snow removal. Additionally, the technician will maintain a high level of cleanliness in the building's common areas and other assigned areas, ensuring that the exterior grounds meet company standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and will be a self-starter who can take initiative. Excellent customer service skills are a must, as the technician will interact with residents and staff regularly. The role requires prior experience in the facilities maintenance field, with a minimum of three years of related job experience. The technician will also be required to provide on-call coverage for emergencies after hours, on weekends, and during holidays, responding to and remedying maintenance issues in a timely manner. A reliable vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position, as travel between properties may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
