About the position

The Roving Property Manager at CommonBond Housing is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of various apartment communities, ensuring they are well-maintained, financially sound, and socially healthy. This role involves compliance with housing regulations, leadership of staff, financial management, and property management tasks, all aimed at providing quality housing and support services to residents.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local laws regarding housing.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with residents and community stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate property staff, including conducting yearly employee reviews.
  • Manage financial operations, including budget preparation and expense tracking.
  • Select and screen new residents, maintaining an accurate waiting list.
  • Implement effective marketing strategies to attract new tenants and reduce vacancies.
  • Prepare monthly reports and manage lease expiration dates and rent increases.
  • Coordinate resident activities and community-building opportunities.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in property management, business, or real estate.
  • Two years of experience in property management, leasing, and staff supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with YARDI software for property management tasks.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and marketing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively.
  • Basic understanding of government subsidy programs and affordable housing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with accounting and financial management in property settings.
  • Knowledge of apartment maintenance and construction processes.
  • Ability to travel extensively between sites as needed.
