About the position

The RT Vent Field Clinician is a Respiratory Therapist responsible for providing respiratory care to patients on ventilators in various settings. This role focuses on ensuring optimal patient outcomes through preventative, rehabilitative, and palliative care. The clinician will educate patients, collaborate with healthcare teams, and manage documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care to ventilator patients in accordance with AdaptHealth's policies.
  • Educate patients and caregivers about respiratory care and equipment usage.
  • Document patient care activities and maintain accurate patient files.
  • Assist with authorization for ventilator referrals and ensure compliance with care plans.
  • Perform clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians and referral sources.
  • Participate in discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions for patients to home settings.
  • Conduct in-services for hospital staff and other professionals regarding respiratory equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines related to ventilation care.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to infection control procedures.
  • Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours.

Requirements

  • Associates degree from an AMA approved respiratory program.
  • Valid and unrestricted RT clinical license in all states serviced by the branch.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • One year of clinical experience as a Health Care RT, HME RT, or clinical nursing with Vent experience.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
