About the position

The County of Riverside's Finance and Business Unit at Riverside University Health System's Public Health Department is seeking a Revenue Cycle Analyst II to join our team in Riverside. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial reports, analyzing data to interpret trends, and providing insights that drive decision-making processes. The Revenue Cycle Analyst II will compile and present findings clearly and concisely to stakeholders and team members, facilitating informed decisions and strategic initiatives within the department. In this role, the analyst will work closely with the HUB Operations Director and Supervising Clinician to coordinate activities, share insights, and support various strategic initiatives. The position requires a strong analytical mindset, as the analyst will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing reports related to revenue cycle processes, identifying variances, and recommending improvements. The successful candidate will also assist in the implementation and oversight of revenue cycle compliance activities, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures that govern billing, charge entry, and contract reimbursement. The Revenue Cycle Analyst II will develop dashboards and reports with key performance indicators to support the organization in achieving optimal revenue cycle results. This includes providing consultation to staff on complex revenue recovery cases, reviewing delinquent accounts, and evaluating the accuracy of third-party payments. The role also involves analyzing existing and proposed legislation to assess its potential impact on revenue cycle operations, ensuring that the department remains compliant and effective in its financial practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide internal technical subject matter expertise; coordinate revenue and recovery unit activities with other units within the department.
  • Assist in the department's implementation and oversight of revenue cycle compliance activities relating to account/service assignment, authorizations, chart documentation, billing, charge entry and reconciliation, contingency planning, supply management, and contract reimbursement.
  • Develop and recommend policies and procedural improvements to standardize a comprehensive revenue cycle workflow.
  • Assist in developing dashboards and reports with key performance indicators and metrics to support RUHS achieve optimal revenue cycle results; assist revenue cycle managers and staff in developing strategies to improve revenue cycle statistics, reporting capabilities, and overall revenue performance.
  • Provide consultation to staff on difficult revenue recovery cases; review and resolve delinquent accounts, billable and unbillable claims, charges, and credit balance accounts; evaluate the accuracy of third party payments.
  • Develop, review, analyze, and audit reports relating to revenue cycle processes in order to identify variances and areas of improvement.
  • Analyze and interpret existing, new, and proposed state and federal legislation and its potential impact on revenue cycle areas (e.g., billing, claims, and financial reporting).
  • Collaborate with team members in the development, implementation, and improvement of internal processes.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in EPIC: Experience with the EPIC electronic health record system and familiarity with CPT codes is essential.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects efficiently and effectively.
