The Ruminant Territory Sales Manager for South Central Kansas is a vital role within Merck Sharp & Dohme's Animal Health division, focusing on driving sales and customer engagement in the beef and dairy sectors. This position requires a deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to promote the company's products effectively. The Territory Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to implement sales strategies, manage accounts, and enhance the company's market presence through innovative solutions and strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company's Animal Health products within a designated geographical area.
• Promote the use of technology as a value add for customers.
• Collaborate with team members and regional management to plan and implement sales strategies.
• Identify key customers that can significantly impact market share.
• Enlist support from company resources to execute sales tactics.
• Plan and conduct interactions with customers to share knowledge and best practices.
• Work with Animal Health Technical Service to create customized value propositions.
• Communicate with the Strategic Accounts Team to share best practices.
• Create account-specific business plans and analyze sales results monthly.
• Manage expenses within budget guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (preferably in an agriculture-related discipline).
• Minimum of two years of animal health sales experience.
• Experience in beef markets.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated motivation and focus on achieving measurable results.
• Ability to build internal relationships and work collaboratively.
• Strong planning, organization, communication, selling, and business acumen skills.
• Willingness to travel overnight a minimum of 50%.
