About the position

The Ruminant Territory Sales Manager for South Central Kansas is a vital role within Merck's Animal Health division, focusing on enhancing customer relationships and driving sales growth in the cattle product portfolio. This position requires a proactive approach to understanding customer needs and delivering tailored solutions, while collaborating with various teams to ensure the company's offerings are effectively promoted and utilized in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company's Animal Health/Animal Health Intelligence within a geographical base made up of different segments of the beef complex.
  • Promote the use of technology as a value add and expertise of the company.
  • Work with team members, territory managers, and regional management to plan and implement the sales planning process.
  • Identify segment customers that can significantly impact market share in the territory.
  • Enlist support from company resources to execute sales tactics.
  • Plan interactions with customers to transfer knowledge and share best practices.
  • Collaborate with Animal Health Technical Service to create customized value propositions.
  • Communicate with the Strategic Accounts Team to share best business practices.
  • Create account-specific business plans and analyze sales results monthly.
  • Manage expenses within budget guidelines and develop an understanding of industry trends and competitor landscape.

Requirements

  • Less than high school education required.
  • No prior experience necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales or customer service is a plus.
  • Knowledge of animal health products and the beef industry is beneficial.
