About the position

The Rural Carrier Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to rural areas. This position requires a dedicated individual capable of managing various delivery tasks while providing excellent customer service. The role involves operating delivery vehicles, handling packages, and maintaining accurate records of deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mail and packages to designated rural routes in a timely manner.
• Operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks and manual transmission vehicles, safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload mail and packages, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including tracking any issues or discrepancies.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any delivery-related concerns.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.
• Assist with heavy lifting and moving of packages as required throughout the delivery process.

Requirements

• Previous experience in route driving or as a delivery driver is preferred.
• Must provide a vehicle capable of delivering to curbside mailboxes within set timeframe from hiring date.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks as needed during deliveries.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
• Must be able to work independently and manage time efficiently while on the road.
