About the position

The Rural Energy Project Manager will oversee project deliverables, reporting, and outreach for Wy'East's rural energy projects. This role involves providing technical support to agricultural producers and rural small businesses, focusing on energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including electric utilities and government agencies, to develop cost-effective energy solutions across the Pacific Northwest, primarily in Oregon.

Responsibilities

  • Provide renewable and energy efficiency project development assistance to rural small business owners and agricultural producers
  • Conduct consultations with producers and small business owners to assess program and project eligibility, providing recommendations on next steps and other funding avenues
  • Conduct site visits, with the potential for Energy Assessments or Energy Audits
  • Provide grant writing assistance on behalf of producers and rural small businesses seeking federal energy funding through USDA RD, NRCS, or other state and utility level programs
  • Manage internal and external project tracking and reporting
  • Perform necessary energy efficiency and renewable energy production calculations
  • Lead outreach and marketing to increase program awareness, generate qualified leads and showcase program impact to external funders and potential partners

Requirements

  • Professional knowledge of basic principles of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and/or water conservation project planning and implementation
  • Able to collect, assemble, and succinctly analyze data and present findings to agriculture producers, utilities, and program funders
  • Detail oriented thinker with a willingness to learn new skills, techniques and project processes
  • Apt in managing complex multistakeholder projects from pre-planning to project completion
  • Versed in verbal & written communications, possessing highly developed interpersonal skills necessary to build trust and effectively communicate in rural communities with various stakeholders
  • Fluent in Microsoft 365 Suite, including Excel, Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams. Able to operate web-based platforms such as Zoom, Google Suite, and Canva.
