About the position

The Ryan White Program Planning Council Coordinator at Hennepin County is a senior-level position focused on leading and supporting Minnesota's HIV care and prevention community planning council. This role involves developing and implementing strategic plans, conducting community engagement, and ensuring the effective allocation of Ryan White funds to support low-income individuals living with HIV. The coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, to enhance HIV services and promote health equity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and community visibility for the Minnesota Council for HIV/AIDS Care and Prevention efforts.
  • Conduct community engagement to support council member recruitment and conflict management.
  • Maintain Council operations by supporting committees, facilitating meetings, and coordinating communication.
  • Lead the statewide HIV services community planning process and develop a strategic plan for HIV care and prevention services.
  • Coordinate research and evaluation activities, managing contracts and ensuring effective use of results in planning.
  • Develop and implement an outreach plan to increase participation in Council activities.
  • Recruit, orient, and retain qualified volunteers for Council membership.
  • Develop an annual training plan and provide leadership development for Council members.
  • Lead public relations efforts to promote the Council's work and Ryan White funded services.
  • Coordinate with state departments to meet federal HIV care and prevention grant requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as business administration, public health, or urban planning.
  • Four years or more of related experience, or a total of eight years of related education and experience combined.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years or more of experience in a community engagement role with diverse populations living with HIV/AIDS.
  • Experience in leading public health community planning processes and program evaluation.
  • Familiarity with HIV health care and social service systems.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
