(S) Childcare Worker - Grand Forks (MaSU Students Only)

About the position

Mayville State University is seeking Childcare Workers to provide educational services to children aged 0-5. The role involves assisting classroom teachers in caring for and supervising children, performing basic childcare duties, and being available on an as-needed basis when additional coverage is required.

Responsibilities

• Cares for the needs of children including dressing, feeding, and playtime
• Organizes games and recreational activities for children in a group setting
• Teaches activities, such as arts and crafts
• Encourages children's emotional, social, and physical development, and positive self-concept
• Implements developmentally appropriate disciplinary measures in the classroom and facility
• Teaches children personal and healthy habits such as eating, resting, and personal hygiene
• Cleans and sanitizes toys, furniture, and play equipment
• Maintains records on individual children including daily observations, activities, meals served, and medications administered

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• Excellent communication skills with parents, teachers, and other childcare workers
• Ability to be patient and understanding when working with children and interacting with parents
• Ability to relate to children and make the childcare facility an enjoyable atmosphere
• Desire to make a difference in children's lives
