About the position

The SDoH Health Information Exchange (HIE) Business Analyst will work within the Health IT Division of the Health Information Office (HIO) at the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing. This role is responsible for managing and coordinating projects related to Health IT initiatives, particularly focusing on the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) and Health Information Exchange (HIE) systems. The analyst will serve as a liaison between various stakeholders, including state agencies and community-based organizations, to ensure effective implementation and operation of health information systems that improve healthcare access and outcomes for Coloradans.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Community Based Organization (CBO) interfaces and other external data interfaces for the SHIE project.
  • Support business analyst needs for the Office of eHealth Innovation SDoH Health Information Exchange project.
  • Elicit, interview, and document policies, rules, regulations, and business requirements for the SHIE project implementation.
  • Act as the primary liaison between HIO, CBOs, internal and external stakeholders, and HCPF leadership and the SHIE vendor.
  • Collaborate with the SHIE vendor on the implementation of new CBO data interfaces and enhancements, as well as issue resolution and troubleshooting.
  • Provide regular updates and technical expertise to the Department, including HIO leadership, and assist with systematic and procedural testing and implementation.

Requirements

  • Seven years of professional experience performing business analyst duties, including documenting business requirements, managing project stakeholders, creating workflows, supporting requirements validation, and training users.
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Human Services, Social Services, or Business Administration, plus three years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous relevant professional state experience
  • Master's Degree in Public Health or Business Administration
  • Experience with social care delivery or administration, Medicaid programs, and electronic health records.
