About the position
The Storage and Loading Operator (S & L Operator) at Mosaic Company is responsible for performing bulk loading of rail cars and trucks, ensuring efficient operation of process control equipment, and maintaining plant efficiency. This role involves monitoring equipment, recording data, and collaborating with co-workers to optimize product quality while minimizing loss. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and adherence to safety and operational protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform bulk loading of rail cars and trucks.
- Operate process control equipment using PLC Controls-RS View and Panel View.
- Monitor and adjust oil and feed rates, weigh cars, and input car numbers along with tare weight.
- Calculate process requirements and record data from various sources.
- Inspect equipment for proper mechanical and process operation to correct problems and maintain maximum plant efficiency.
- Communicate and coordinate activities with co-workers and supervisors.
- Perform general housekeeping duties.
- Operate front-end loaders, forklifts, dump trucks, shuttle wagons, vacuum trucks, and skid steers.
Requirements
- Willingness to complete all phases of Storage and Loading Training programs.
- Ability to follow instructions, analyze, monitor, and learn new processes and procedures.
- Good understanding of basic mathematics and ability to read and write.
- Demonstrated skills in planning, scheduling, and exercising independent judgment/decision making.
- Ability to identify and correct problems and demonstrate initiative.
- Record of good attendance and dependability.
- Minimum of two years of experience operating heavy equipment (preferred).
