The S&OP Demand Planner at Veritiv will play a crucial role in collaborating with various cross-functional teams to forecast, plan, and optimize inventory levels while ensuring alignment with sales projections and operational requirements. This hybrid position, based out of the Norcross office, requires the individual to maintain a balance between customer demand and supply chain efficiency. The Demand Planner will work closely with Supply Planning to manage the implementation of new strategic programs and inventory requirements for key accounts. They will also facilitate proactive resolution and communication of supply and demand gaps to key stakeholders through a repeatable Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. In this role, the Demand Planner will gather sales forecasts, historical data, and market insights to develop accurate demand forecasts. They will utilize demand planning tools to analyze data and generate forecasts for various products and regions. The individual will assist in developing inventory strategies aimed at optimizing stock levels, minimizing shortages, and reducing excess inventory. Monitoring market trends, seasonality, and promotional activities will be essential to adjust demand forecasts accordingly. The Demand Planner will also analyze potential risks and opportunities related to demand and inventory, proposing actions to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities. Participation in S&OP meetings will be a key responsibility, providing insights into demand forecasts, inventory positions, and potential constraints. The Demand Planner will contribute to the continuous improvement of demand planning processes and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency. They will support the generation of relevant reports and KPIs to monitor demand planning performance and share insights with stakeholders. Additionally, collaboration with customer service teams to address demand-related issues and discrepancies will be necessary, along with working with Supply Planners and Supply Chain Analysts for inventory adjustments to achieve objectives such as fill rate and Days Inventory on Hand (DIOH). The role also involves coordinating regional rollout of marketing initiatives in collaboration with various teams.
