About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst at Western Oregon University serves as the frontline defense against cybersecurity threats. This role involves monitoring alerts, cybersecurity news, and third-party notifications to ensure the safety of university systems and data. The analyst collaborates with the Systems Team, including System Administrators and Network Engineers, to coordinate patching and communication efforts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor incoming alerts and cybersecurity news.
• Collaborate with the Systems Team to track status and ensure system safety.
• Coordinate patching and communication with System Administrators and Network Engineers.

Requirements

• Associate degree (A.S., A.A.) or two-year technical certificate.
• One to two years' experience in Cybersecurity.
• Experience in Programming/Scripting, System Administration, and SQL.

• Knowledge of compliance standards and regulations.
