About the position

The SAFe Agile Project Manager will lead the development and implementation of coordinated plans and programs to achieve business unit goals in a matrixed environment. This role involves coaching teams in SAFe Scrum and Kanban methodologies, facilitating PI Planning, and managing multiple squads to ensure release readiness. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders to optimize workflow and resolve conflicts, ultimately driving organizational change and improving productivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of plans and programs to meet business unit goals.
• Teach and coach SAFe Scrum and Kanban methodologies to ensure team success.
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in project workflows.
• Collaborate with Scrum Masters and Release Train Engineering during PI Planning events.
• Prepare for PI Planning by working with product and business owners to define scope.
• Create PI plans for iterations, including goals, objectives, and risk identification.
• Coordinate with other teams to foster effective communication and resolve dependencies.
• Manage multiple squads for development, QA, performance testing, and documentation readiness.
• Oversee release strategy and roadmap for hotfixes and service packs, ensuring stakeholder communication.
• Facilitate team events to plan, synchronize, review, and hold retrospectives.
• Measure and optimize workflow using productivity metrics to enhance team performance.
• Resolve team conflicts and build trusting relationships among team members.
• Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience.
• Project governance certification (Scaled Agile, PMP, Kanban, Scrum, etc.) preferred.
• 5+ years of IT software development experience with SAFe Agile and Kanban methodologies.
• Technical knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Expertise in Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence) for managing Kanban boards.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, using effective tools and techniques.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions to remove project roadblocks and improve productivity.
• Demonstrated collaboration skills to define alternate solutions and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to work cooperatively to set goals and enhance cross-functional effectiveness.
• Skill in assessing situations to make timely decisions in the organization's best interest.
• Experience in setting priorities, developing plans, and tracking progress towards goals.

Nice-to-haves

• Competent in using MS Project, MS Office, and MS Visio (preferred).
• Emphasis on scaled agile and/or hybrid methodology for software application development.
