About the position

CAS is currently seeking a Senior Sales Compensation Analyst to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is pivotal in administering and analyzing the performance of our annual global Incentive Compensation Plan. The Senior Sales Compensation Analyst will be responsible for maintaining eligibility, calculating payouts, and distributing statements to the Sales Team. This position also involves addressing inquiries from the field and preparing analyses on the performance and effectiveness of plan measures. As a key participant in the annual Incentive Compensation design and planning process, the analyst will prepare and design reports, dashboards, presentations, and data visualizations that cater to all levels of the organization. The scope of this position is global, encompassing activities related to sales representatives and international agents. The Senior Sales Compensation Analyst will often collaborate on cross-functional teams to support large enterprise projects or specialty/ad-hoc reporting. This role requires a strong analytical mindset to analyze large datasets, identify trends, provide recommendations, and improve processes to drive performance. The analyst will also be responsible for recommending process improvement opportunities, including the implementation of sales compensation software, and will oversee the cross-functional Quota Review Board exception approval process. In addition to these responsibilities, the analyst will partner with Sales Management and front-line Sales to gather feedback on plan effectiveness and develop tools to enhance understanding of plan components. The role requires collaboration with various departments, including Sales, Finance, HR, and Legal, to ensure that the compensation plans are competitive, motivational, and compliant with internal and external policies. The successful candidate will utilize CAS business systems such as SAP BW, Tableau, Salesforce.com, and Excel to perform job duties and research business trends, vertical markets, and the competitive landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Administers Incentive Compensation Plan; maintains and circulates annual plan documents, tracks eligibility, calculates accurate and timely incentive payments, responds to inquiries, researches, and resolves disputes and estimates future payments in accordance with plan criteria.
  • Recommends process improvement opportunities including but not limited to implementation of sales compensation software.
  • Develops, maintains, and distributes reports and dashboards to provide visibility into incentive plan performance.
  • Designs incentive models to evaluate plan measures, pay curves, and inform decision making.
  • Oversees cross functional Quota Review Board exception approval process; drafts supporting documentation, research requests, makes recommendations, and secures approvals for unique situations.
  • Key participant in the annual sales incentive planning process which includes incentive plan strategy and design, goal setting, and plan rollout.
  • Analyzes large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights to guide decision making, process improvements, and drive sales performance.
  • Prepares and distributes various analysis (sales trends, forecasting and modeling, segmentation, territory realignment, performance, ratios, etc.), custom reports, presentations, summary graphs and other market summaries across all levels of the organization (including leadership and board level).
  • Partners with Sales Management and front-line Sales to gather feedback on plan effectiveness and develop tools to support understanding of plan components.
  • Works cross functionally with Sales, Finance, HR, and Legal to ensure plans are competitive, motivational, and in adherence to internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Uses CAS business systems (SAP BW, Tableau, Salesforce.com, Excel) and other resources to perform job duties and research business trends, vertical markets, the competitive landscape, and other information to provide input for strategic development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or Equivalent; Advanced Degree desired.
  • 7+ years of experience in a sales operations, finance, business analysis, sales, or analytical role.
  • 3+ years of sales incentive plan design, administration and analysis experience required.
  • Experience implementing and/or administering sales compensation software system preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency with CRM/analytic/data visualization tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Salesforce.com, SQL, or Power BI desired.
  • Strong analytical skills to uncover data-driven insights to drive performance and improve processes.
  • Strong understanding of general business practices, CAS business practices, and incentive program design.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and make decisions with available information.
  • Organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of CAS products and services, metrics, pricing models, and business partnership a plus.
  • Experience in pricing models preferred.
