About the position

Student Affairs at Auburn University is excited to begin the search for a Safe Harbor Coordinator! This position oversees Safe Harbor, Auburn University's 24-hour interpersonal violence response program by providing support, advocacy and resources to students and employees who are survivors of power-based personal violence (PBPV). The position manages and responds to confidential reporting of sexual assault and interpersonal violence. This position also serves on the Lee County community Sexual Assault Response Team.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and responds to confidential reporting of interpersonal violence
  • Maintains confidential records for all survivor cases via Maxient
  • Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates the Safe Harbor graduate assistant
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with campus and community partners
  • Develops and provides outreach and educational outreach, marketing, and trainings
  • Collaborates and serves as part of the Lee County community SART; develops and manages reports and information used to enhance service or program effectiveness
  • Assesses and responds as necessary to after-hours contacts (i.e., ProtoCall)
  • Participates in Power Based Personal Violence-based events to include, but is not limited to, Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month
  • Partners with Housing to oversee and maintain the emergency housing suite
  • Oversee and manage Safe Harbor budget

Requirements

  • Level I: Bachelor's degree
  • Level II: Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience in student affairs administration, student programming, orientation, or related field.
  • Level III: Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience in student affairs administration, student programming, orientation, or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Trauma-informed violence prevention response principles
  • Working knowledge of Title IX and Clery Act
  • Experience working in violence prevention programming and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) federal mandates
  • Knowledge of higher education case management methods
  • Experience in creating and implementing programs
