About the position

The Safe Ride Driver position at Chapman University is designed for undergraduate students to provide safe transportation services to students, faculty, and staff within designated boundaries during evening hours. The role involves driving a Safe Ride van, assisting passengers, and ensuring a secure environment while performing various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Safe Ride van to transport students, faculty, and staff to locations within Safe Ride boundaries.
• Provide safety assistance to passengers as needed.
• Answer phones and relay directions to other drivers via a two-way radio.
• Assist in the safe loading and unloading of the vehicle.
• Perform filing and data entry tasks as required.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Basic office skills, including computer skills and organization skills.
• Customer service skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong decision-making ability and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of the campus and surrounding areas.
• Ability to assist passengers with boarding and on-boarding as needed.
• Punctuality and ability to work late hours.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively.
