About the position

The Safety Analyst position at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) focuses on ensuring safety, health, and compliance within the airport environment. The role involves conducting incident investigations, developing safety training programs, and performing safety inspections to identify and mitigate hazards. The analyst will work closely with various departments to promote a culture of safety and compliance with regulations, while also participating in the development of safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incident investigations and produce reports identifying causes and causal factors and prevention.
  • Provide technical safety assistance and support for incident investigations.
  • Perform trend analyses on incidents as assigned.
  • Develop corrective action plans for identified incident trends.
  • Determine leading safety and health indicators and report annually.
  • Develop, conduct, and/or coordinate occupational safety and health training for employees, supervisors, and management.
  • Evaluate safety and health training provided by consultants and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct safety and health inspections and hazard assessment surveys and generate reports identifying hazards and compliance issues.
  • Develop recommendations or control practices to minimize or eliminate identified hazards.
  • Assist with the quarterly formal inspection program as needed.
  • Develop Codes of Safe Practices (CSP) Policy Procedures and update as needed.
  • Conduct Annual IIPP Audit and produce reports.
  • Provide technical assistance and support in safety and health and industrial hygiene related matters.
  • Participate in safety and health regulatory inspections and compliance activities.
  • Review and make recommendations on facilities design and construction to enhance safety and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of professional occupational safety experience, such as implementing occupational safety programs, conducting worksite inspections, and conducting safety training.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management, or a closely related field.
  • Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Diverse field experience in construction or transportation industries or government public sectors.
