About the position
The Safety and Occupational Health Specialist serves as the Principal Staff Advisor for the Brigade's Safety Program, providing technical guidance and assistance to ensure compliance with safety requirements and risk management. This role involves planning, managing, and administering a comprehensive safety and occupational health program for a Brigade-sized unit, under the direction of the Brigade Commander.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Principal Staff Advisor for the Brigade's Safety Program.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to deployed commanders and staff officers.
- Ensure compliance with established safety requirements and mission goals.
- Plan, manage, and administer a safety and occupational health program for a Brigade-sized unit.
Requirements
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Must be able to deploy worldwide with assigned/attached units for up to 365 days.
- Must pass a military standard physical examination.
- Must maintain a valid stateside driver's license and obtain a U.S. Government Vehicle driver's license within 30 days of employment.
- Must obtain and maintain standard Army Safety Program certification.
