About the position

The Safety and Security Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students and employees on campus. This role involves maintaining compliance with safety regulations, environmental health standards, and security requirements, while also identifying vulnerabilities and implementing safety programs. Additionally, the officer will serve as the Human Rights Officer, Discrimination/Harassment Complaints Officer, and Title IX Coordinator, conducting investigations as per the MnSCU 1B1 complaint procedure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental health standards.
• Identify vulnerabilities in the workplace and implement safety programs.
• Conduct investigations related to discrimination and harassment complaints.
• Serve as the Human Rights Officer and Title IX Coordinator.
• Collaborate with the Director of Facilities and Security to enhance campus safety.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Experience in conducting investigations related to discrimination and harassment.
• Ability to develop and implement safety programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in safety management or compliance.
• Experience in a higher education environment.
• Familiarity with MnSCU 1B1 complaint procedures.
