About the position
The Safety Coordinator is an entry-level position responsible for providing administrative and safety-related support under the direction of the Safety Manager. This role involves monitoring, administering, implementing, maintaining, and reporting on the location's risk management, safety, and compliance programs. The position emphasizes a safe and inclusive working environment and offers growth opportunities within the food distribution system.
Responsibilities
- Assist with safety incident/accident investigations, documentation, and reporting.
- Prepare, maintain, and distribute reports on safety programs, including newsletters and compliance audits.
- Assist with the online training program (UKG Learning), including maintaining schedules and preparing reports.
- Coordinate and perform new hire safety orientation.
- Assist with DOT compliance activities, including reports and data gathering for audits.
- Understand and enforce compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Provide associate training to ensure compliance with related programs and policies.
- Perform other related HR duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience in administrative work handling large amounts of data and spreadsheets
- Experience with web-based systems/portals and customer support activities
- Detail-oriented.
