About the position

The Safety Coordinator at Rogers Machinery Company is responsible for enhancing the company's safety culture by developing and implementing safety policies and procedures. This role involves assessing work environments, conducting inspections, and collaborating with management to ensure compliance with safety regulations. The Safety Coordinator will also facilitate training and maintain records related to safety incidents and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Facilitate investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and inspections
  • Oversee safety certification processes across the company
  • Prepare and submit reports to management regarding safety performance and compliance
  • Oversee fleet safety program

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred
  • Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations
  • Strong understanding of industrial work environment and conditions
  • Strong collaborative and organizational skills
  • Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to create training material and deliver safety training

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing safety training programs
  • Knowledge of safety certification processes
  • Familiarity with industrial compressed air systems
