About the position

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining safety protocols and procedures within the company, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role collaborates with company leadership to promote safe operations and reduce workplace hazards.

Responsibilities

• Develops and coordinates a training program for employees on safe work practices and job-specific hazards.
• Performs scheduled inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions and improve workplace operations.
• Investigates accidents and losses to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
• Communicates and enforces site-specific safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains knowledge of OSHA regulations and updates safety standards as necessary.
• Establishes quarterly training programs for employees and supervisors.
• Conducts new employee safety training and orientation.
• Facilitates safety meetings to discuss safety activities and concerns.
• Encourages reporting of unsafe conditions and injuries, coordinating repairs as needed.
• Communicates loss prevention information to management regularly.
• Develops a proactive Return to Work Program for injured employees.

Requirements

• Minimum of three to six years related experience.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Prior experience with OSHA audits and safety documentation preparation.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Good judgement for timely decision-making.
• Ability to understand safety requirements and cautions.

• Forklift certified.
