About The Position

The Safety Director at Todd & Sargent, Inc. is a strategic leadership role focused on enhancing the company's safety culture within the construction and engineering sectors. The Safety Director will work closely with leadership and field teams to foster a collaborative safety environment, advocate for innovative safety practices, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in safety leadership or management roles, preferably in construction or engineering.
  • Proven track record of creating and implementing safety strategies that positively impact company culture.
  • Experience managing safety programs and teams in the construction or industrial sectors.
  • Familiarity with jobsite safety requirements, particularly in the agricultural or food processing sectors.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

  • Experience in orchestrating organizational change in safety culture.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with field teams and leadership.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive safety strategy that aligns with the company's long-term goals.
  • Advocate for innovative safety practices and continuous improvement in safety culture.
  • Build strong relationships with field leadership and jobsite crews to foster a collaborative approach to safety.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to inspire and educate on safety practices.
  • Manage and mentor the Safety Team, ensuring succession planning and leadership development within the department.
  • Develop comprehensive safety training programs that focus on employee engagement and compliance.
  • Create and maintain systems to monitor and track the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct jobsite safety visits and develop project-specific safety plans for each project.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain necessary recordkeeping requirements.
