About the position

The Bunge North America Safety Internship Program is designed for collaborative, results-oriented candidates who possess strong critical thinking and communication skills. This internship provides an opportunity to understand how safety is prioritized within a company that values a strong safety culture. Interns will gain exposure to various aspects of safety management, developing essential skills and knowledge for a career in the safety field.

Responsibilities

  • Support Bunge safety culture and improvements by participating in projects or initiatives identified by the site.
  • Develop training material.
  • Update procedures, safe work instructions, and/or Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Conduct PPE and confined space hazard assessments, review Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and review completed permits.
  • Track and trend proactive and reactive metrics.
  • Conduct procedural gap analysis.
  • Conduct audits and develop reports with corrective actions.
  • Assist in training development.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of high potential exposures and conduct gap analysis.
  • Respond to verbal or written inquiries from supervisors, mentors, or program manager to demonstrate understanding.
  • Analyze data and develop reports.
  • Travel to other Bunge locations for training and exposure purposes.
  • Communicate effectively with Bunge internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Pursuing an Occupational Health and Safety Diploma or Certificate.
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and constant change.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in standard PC applications.
  • Ability to travel.
