About the position

The Safety Intern position is designed to provide hands-on experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) activities. The intern will work closely with operators, supervisors, and EHS personnel to develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for various tasks, aiming to enhance worker safety and foster an appreciation for safety protocols in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Work with operators, supervisors, and EHS personnel to review tasks and develop JHAs.
• Assist with ad hoc requests and projects as needed.
• Support investigations and data analyses.
• Observe and record manufacturing operations to identify potential hazards and control measures.
• Track and analyze safety data.
• Assist in the development of risk assessments.
• Improve near miss incident reporting.
• Attend and provide input to cross-departmental safety meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Ability to work with others.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment.
• Ability to work in personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical skills and problem identification/resolution skills.

• Experience in safety-related roles or coursework.
• Demonstrated ability to translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
