About The Position

The Safety Manager provides leadership and direction by building a partnership with frontline leadership and collaborating with business partners to develop and mentor employees across the organization related to environmental health and safety. This position plays an important role in the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or a related field required. Equivalent related experience in lieu of educational requirements will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in warehouse and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA, DOT, EPA and relevant industry-specific requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing EHS programs, policies and procedures.
  • Must have intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.
  • Must be able to efficiently use a Windows-based computer.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English, for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations.
  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) operational support to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and specific EHS regulations, MAC P+P programs and assist with safety issue resolution.
  • Conduct company-wide Safety audits at all locations and follow up audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and specific EHS regulations, including MAC P+P Safety expectations. Develop and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and implement EHS procedures, programs and systems at the site level and ensure compliance with MAC P+P EHS procedures, Safety and ESG Expectations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to teams to promote a strong culture of safety, including training programs, safety meetings, and communication initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational planning and decision-making processes.
  • Conduct and manage health and safety training, collaborating with the operations team in developing a knowledge base for compliance.
  • Manage incident and accident investigations, root cause analysis and the development of preventative measures to mitigate future risks.
  • Responsible for the end‑to‑end management of workers’ compensation claims, including submission, review, and ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Oversees fleet safety and Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance programs to ensure regulatory adherence and safe vehicle operations.
  • Complete daily safety tasks, safety communications, and recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate with all levels of MAC P+P employees to assist and determine EHS solutions for business issues on a day-to-day basis.
  • Maintain accurate EHS and ESG metrics, support site-level compliance documentation, and manage annual regulatory reporting requirements, including OSHA recordkeeping (OSHA 300/300A logs) and Tier II chemical inventory reporting.
  • Be a leader in driving Safety culture change at sites and business locations.
  • Stay informed about emerging EHS trends, technologies, and regulatory developments and make recommendations for future improvements.
