About the position

The Safety Manager at Trillium Construction is responsible for overseeing and enforcing safety regulations on commercial construction projects across multiple counties. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, and implementing safety protocols. The position is temporary, lasting for 6 months, with an immediate start date and a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and assessments of job sites to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Implement OSHA regulations and company-specific safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety laws.
  • Develop and deliver safety training sessions for staff and subcontractors, addressing specific training needs for unique site requirements or high-risk activities.
  • Investigate and document any incidents, near misses, or accidents, conducting root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop, implement, and continually improve the company's safety program, adapting to project requirements and new safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, including inspection reports, training logs, and incident investigations, and prepare reports to present findings to management.
  • Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain safe construction sites and address safety concerns.
  • Identify potential job hazards, conduct risk assessments, and develop site-specific safety plans to mitigate risks on all commercial projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years in a safety management role on commercial construction projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications (such as CHST, CSP) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with commercial construction processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
