About the position

The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the safety programs and protocols across all construction sites. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations while promoting a culture of safety within the organization. The Safety Manager will work closely with project teams to identify potential hazards, conduct safety training, and implement preventive measures to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries. The position requires a proactive approach to safety management, ensuring that safety is integrated into all phases of construction projects. In this role, the Safety Manager will develop and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies tailored to the specific needs of various construction projects. Regular safety inspections and audits will be conducted to identify and mitigate potential hazards, and the Safety Manager will investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to develop corrective actions that prevent recurrence. Leading safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors is a key responsibility, covering essential topics such as fall protection, equipment operation, and emergency response. The Safety Manager will also maintain accurate safety records and documentation, including safety reports, incident logs, and training records. Collaboration with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders is essential to ensure that safety considerations are integrated into all project phases. The role includes developing and delivering safety briefings and toolbox talks to reinforce safety protocols on-site, as well as staying current with industry best practices and advancements in safety technology and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and other applicable safety laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and educate others on safety matters.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing safety programs in a construction environment.
  • Ability to conduct thorough safety inspections and accident investigations.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30-hour, OSHA 500, or other relevant safety certifications are preferred.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
