About the position

The Safety Program Manager at Allied Universal is responsible for managing various Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) functions and supporting the implementation of safety programs and policies. This remote role requires ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies such as OSHA and EPA, while fostering a culture of safety within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a continuous learning mindset, adaptability, proficiency in technology, and a meticulous approach to safety documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and distribute safety policies and procedures.
  • Review and update safety policies and procedures.
  • Review required safety training and coordinate with the training department.
  • Manage annual regulatory survey requests and coordinate with regulatory representatives.
  • Support safety content development for the company's micro messaging application.
  • Serve as the manager and administrator of the corporate safety inbox.
  • Participate in regional and local safety meetings and present summaries of safety initiatives.
  • Provide technical and regulatory support to employees at all levels.
  • Analyze and interpret business intelligence data to identify trends.
  • Conduct daily analyses of incident data, including workers' compensation injuries and vehicle incidents.
  • Assist operations with incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Support OSHA/MSHA recordkeeping and reporting responsibilities.
  • Support business development and vendor verification platform compliance.
  • Manage the implementation of new policies and initiatives and advise on overall safety concerns.
  • Develop, revise, and implement company health, safety, and environment policies and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Health, or a relevant field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management, focusing on HSE program management and OSHA compliance.
  • Proficient in web-based applications and programs, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory agencies, regulations, and guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in ASP, OHST, CHST, STS, CIH, CHSM, CSP, or GSP.
  • OSHA 30 certification (General Industry or Construction).
  • Experience in specific industries such as Security, Service Industries, Manufacturing, or Technology.
