About the position

The Safety Service Patrol Operator is responsible for patrolling designated highway routes to assist disabled motorists, maintain traffic flow, and support emergency services. This part-time role requires adherence to safety regulations and involves providing roadside assistance, monitoring roadway safety, and collaborating with first responders.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated highway routes in a company truck.
• Assist disabled motorists and maintain the flow of traffic.
• Support local and state Police, Fire, or Emergency Service Units for scene safety.
• Provide Traffic Incident Management services.
• Monitor the safety of roadways and assist with disabled/abandoned vehicles, lane closures, and debris in the roadway.
• Use provided tools and equipment for roadside assistance, including changing tires and jump-starting batteries.
• Maintain an online system for reporting incidents.
• Work with Traffic Management Centers to follow directives.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid state Driver's License.
• Automotive mechanical knowledge or 2+ years of experience in a similar field.
• 3+ years of driving experience with a demonstrated safe driving record.
• Ability to perform physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 60 lbs.

Nice-to-haves
