About the position
The Safety Specialist I at Carr & Duff is responsible for assisting in the administration of the company's job sites and workplace safety program, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves conducting audits, training, incident investigations, and compliance checks, while supporting the Safety Manager in various safety-related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and document regular field crew audits/inspections.
- Conduct new hire orientation, driver evaluations, and forklift training.
- Assist in identifying, documenting, and recommending mitigation of hazardous conditions.
- Assist with incident investigations, including compiling data and completing documentation.
- Review job site documents and permits for regulatory compliance and accuracy.
- Assist with employee rubber goods changes per OSHA guidelines.
- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis for specific tasks.
- Track, inspect, and facilitate maintenance for AEDs and fire extinguishers.
Requirements
- College degree in a Safety related field or relevant job experience.
- OSHA 30 hour training in Construction within the last 5 years preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of safety construction experience.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Maintain a valid PA driver's license.
Nice-to-haves
- Advanced safety certifications from BCSP (ASP, CSP, CHST, STS) desirable.
