About the position

The Leader, EHS Operations will collaborate with various organizational areas to create effective safety and environmental solutions, fostering a culture of excellence and sustainable change across North America’s mining and manufacturing facilities. This role involves managing and mentoring a team to develop and implement proactive safety, environmental, IMS, and health programs across the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Responsibilities

  • Aligns global requirements to regional actions and deliverables while developing actionable KPIs.
  • Reviews, implements, and provides guidance for regional safety programs including behavior-based safety and risk assessments.
  • Develops regional strategy for global environmental and sustainability alignment.
  • Maintains compliance with ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
  • Develops a strategic path to upgrade facilities to ISO 45001 and 50001 by 2025.
  • Engages locations throughout US, Canada, and Mexico to promote a safety culture.
  • Manages all facets of Worker's Compensation and conducts post-accident investigations.
  • Leads and mentors a team to develop safe work instructions and follow up on safety incidents.
  • Develops innovative solutions to daily safety challenges in partnership with leadership.
  • Provides technical expertise and leadership to site teams.

Requirements

  • Certified Safety Professional certification required.
  • Experience in Health and Safety, preferably in manufacturing or related industry.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and Workers Compensation regulations.
  • Ability to build relationships inside and outside the company.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking in English.
