About the position

The Safety Trainer at PECNA is responsible for developing and implementing Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) training programs to support the construction of a new battery factory. This role involves collaboration with project managers, supervisors, and safety teams to design and deliver effective training sessions, ensuring a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of safety, quality compliance, and continuous improvement throughout PECNA.
  • Evaluate training needs and requirements and create a project management process.
  • Stay abreast of process and policy changes that affect PECNA employees and customers.
  • Implement learning programs and facilitate training sessions for new and existing employees.
  • Create and deliver hands-on, instructor-led, and virtual training sessions focused on EHS impact.
  • Solicit feedback from attendees to continually improve course offerings.
  • Review and audit training content; oversee re-training and re-certification process.
  • Understand the workings of Learning Management System (LMS) and create training content.
  • Find exciting and creative ways to deliver training.
  • Meet regularly with trainers from other departments to share best practices.
  • Collaborate with business leaders on team capability and skill development needs.
  • Interact and support personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Assist in the development of safety campaigns and best practices.
  • Implement Behavior Based Safety Programs to promote proactive solutions.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for EHS management.
  • Complete administrative duties to track learner enrollments and course completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in EHS and/or training field.
  • Experience with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and guidelines, including OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, ISO, and EPA.
  • Experienced with course creation tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Lectora).
  • Skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience with Behavior Based Safety Programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Spanish and/or Japanese would be a plus.
