About the position

The Store Manager at Las Vegas Petroleum is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a convenience store, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff, handling inventory, and driving sales to meet company goals. The role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced environment effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of store operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
  • Manage opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and daily reports.
  • Monitor and maintain product displays, stock levels, and inventory.
  • Lead by example in providing excellent customer service and resolving complaints.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate store employees, developing schedules for peak hours.
  • Perform hiring and onboarding of new staff members and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Meet or exceed sales and profitability targets through effective management.
  • Monitor store performance and implement strategies to drive growth and improve sales.
  • Control expenses and ensure the store is within budget, including labor and inventory.
  • Order, track, and maintain inventory levels, conducting regular stock checks.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and maintain a safe environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in business or retail management preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Store Manager or in a similar supervisory role in retail or convenience store settings.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with customers and staff.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and financial principles.
  • Experience in inventory management and loss prevention.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
