About the position

The Sales Account Executive at Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, Environmental Testing is responsible for identifying and managing client accounts and new business opportunities within the Virginia region. This role focuses on maximizing market share and profitability in the environmental analytical services market while establishing and maintaining productive relationships with clients. The Account Executive will represent Eurofins, communicate its services, and advocate for customer needs within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage client accounts and new business opportunities in the Virginia region.
  • Maximize market share, profitability, and capacity utilization in the environmental analytical services market.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with Eurofins clients.
  • Provide vision and acquire new accounts to sustain business growth.
  • Identify opportunities and profitable work by following up on leads, negotiating, and closing.
  • Communicate customer needs to the internal organization and fulfill the role of customer advocate.
  • Meet individual, regional, and business unit revenue goals.
  • Develop and recommend strategies for pricing and bid/no bid decisions.
  • Develop client profiles and determine potential and ability to fund work.
  • Review credit status of new and existing customers prior to submitting bids or proposals.
  • Report sales activity within the assigned area.
  • Develop and implement account plans detailing specific clients and revenue goals.
  • Identify key target markets and major accounts to maintain profitability.
  • Establish, coordinate, negotiate, and complete Master Service Agreements with customers.
  • Collect and document information to establish pricing and evaluate Eurofins' ability to meet customer requirements.
  • Team with Customer Service Managers and Project Managers to facilitate successful completion of work.
  • Complete summaries of sales development activities as directed by GM.
  • Communicate all business opportunities by providing copies or entering information into Eurofins database.
  • Follow up on all outstanding bids, quotes, proposals, and price inquiries.
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual issues with the approval of the GM.
  • Control expenses with respect to the selling function pursuant to Eurofins policy.
  • Provide feedback on market conditions to facilitate the development of new products and services.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Sciences or related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years progressively successful sales experience in a service industry.
  • Lab experience and exposure to the environmental industry preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and analytical skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in an unstructured environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Writing sales and account plans.
  • Familiarity with lab functions and terminology.
  • Sales specific skills of identification of prospects, interviewing, negotiating, and closing.
