About the position

The Sales Account Executive at SAGE Dining Services is responsible for expanding the company's presence in the educational sector within the Mid-Atlantic region. This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with private schools and colleges, promoting SAGE's food service solutions, and tailoring offerings to meet the specific needs of educational institutions. The position is target-driven and requires a proactive approach to sales, with a strong emphasis on client engagement and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and prospect potential clients through various channels, including cold calling, networking events, and online research.
  • Present and demonstrate our products/services to potential clients, highlighting their unique features and benefits.
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Focus on institutions of higher learning that align with SAGE's mission.
  • Create complex proposals that lead to new business growth.
  • Represent SAGE within the client community and maintain strong professional relationships with decision-makers.
  • Work with the regional operations team on new account development and the opening process.
  • Identify potential business opportunities, call upon these opportunities, and close them in the assigned region.

Requirements

  • Strong demonstrated communication skills, including experience and competency in public speaking.
  • Microsoft Office Literacy: Outlook, MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
  • Ability to travel extensively.
  • Planning and organizational proficiency.
  • High energy, positive attitude, superior ethics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum five years of proven sales experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior sales training a plus.
  • Salesforce.com experience a plus.
