About the position

The Sales Account Manager for Univar Solutions' Beauty & Personal Care team is responsible for building long-term relationships with accounts, enhancing business opportunities, and improving profit margins while managing costs effectively. This role involves consultative selling, customer retention, and providing technical support to clients, all while maintaining a clear view of the sales pipeline and coordinating with various internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build long-term, value-based relationships with accounts.
  • Conduct sales calls to prospect for new business and grow territory size.
  • Focus on customer retention and overall satisfaction.
  • Provide technical support and consulting services to customers.
  • Maintain an updated view of the sales pipeline.
  • Set pricing and service levels, and coordinate customer quotations.
  • Coordinate with Local Sales, Purchasing, and Operations for inventory management.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety for self and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience in the Beauty & Personal Care industry.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or chemical industry sales is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Science or Chemistry preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to cultivate an extensive network of contacts.
  • Proven competitive drive and strong business acumen.
  • Well-honed listening skills and a problem-solving approach.
  • Effective negotiation skills to realize appropriate value for products and services.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory.
