The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for establishing a sales development strategy to identify, qualify, and sell to new customers in the Florida Territory. Candidates must be based in the high growth markets of metro Jacksonville, Orlando, or Miami. The Sales Account Manager reports to the Regional Sales Manager. This role is crucial for cultivating relationships and driving new business through the Pregis channel partner network. The successful candidate will manage growth and retention of an established book of end-user business by facilitating positive, growth-oriented relationships, sales strategy development, and sales forecasting. In this position, the Sales Account Manager will initiate and quote new items, establishing coordination with operations, customer service, and engineering for new product development to deliver competitive and effective quotes. They will also be responsible for establishing legitimate sales forecasts within the assigned territory to help plan for overall sales volume and profit, regularly analyzing market position, profitability, and competitive impact. Additionally, the role requires managing all administrative duties within the territory in a timely and accurate fashion, acting with urgency at assigned accounts, supporting accounts receivable, optimizing pricing and profitability, and managing CRM and travel expenses. The ideal candidate will possess a university degree or college diploma, preferably in business or package engineering, and have a minimum of 3 years of outside B2B sales experience. They should have a proven track record of prospecting new accounts and driving new business through an existing distribution network within the established territory. The role demands highly effective negotiation and communication skills, the capacity to prepare and present compelling sales materials, and a results-oriented mindset with minimal direct management. A high degree of personal and professional ethical standards, excellent communication skills, and organized time management skills are essential. Familiarity with Pregis products, applications, and manufacturing capabilities, along with a good mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic machine repairs, will be beneficial. Occasional heavy lifting is required, and the position involves travel requirements of up to 40%. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs is also necessary.
