About the position

The Sales Account Manager for Motor Core Business Development at NHK International Corporation is responsible for managing and developing business opportunities within the Motor Core sector. This role involves building and maintaining long-term relationships with customers, serving as the primary point of contact, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution. The position requires a proactive approach to sales and account management, with a focus on meeting customer needs and driving business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities for Motor Core business with new and existing customers.
  • Build and maintain effective long-term relationships and a high level of satisfaction with assigned customer accounts.
  • Serve as the point of contact between NHK and assigned customers.
  • Respond to a range of customer inquiries.
  • Communicate with NHK HQ in Japan and obtain quotes.
  • Accurately input all customer orders.
  • Maintain the price tracking system.
  • Work with the tracking tool to collect past due payments.
  • Ensure all sales documentation is accurate and complete in compliance with NHK policy and external requirements.
  • Determine the effect of engineering changes to price.
  • Monitor daily aftermarket part orders from customers and ensure timely delivery.
  • Create and monitor schedules to meet customer needs.
  • Communicate customer requests/requirements to production, quality, manufacturing, etc.
  • Effectively resolve company and customer issues in a manner that serves the needs of both NHK and the customer.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with plants, engineering, and other NHK departments and affiliate companies.
  • Maintain accurate monthly sales forecasts for each customer and part number.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of sales, marketing, account management, or similar experience preferably in the automotive supplier industry.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to speak Japanese is preferable.
  • Experience in the automotive supplier industry.
