About the position

The Sales Account Manager for the New York City, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania territories is responsible for developing new prospects and interacting with existing customers to increase sales of Newly Weds Foods' products and services. This role is crucial in driving the growth of the company by identifying new business opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with current clients. The Sales Account Manager will engage in various activities, including conducting presentations, business reviews, and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). The position requires a proactive approach to sales, with a focus on understanding customer needs and delivering tailored solutions. In addition to pursuing new business, the Sales Account Manager will make regular sales calls to current customers to promote new products, check inventories, conduct sales meetings, and assist with problem resolution. This involves negotiating and managing customer pricing requests and contracts to ensure mutual satisfaction and profitability. The role also includes attending all major industry trade shows and conventions, which are essential for networking and staying updated on market trends. The Sales Account Manager may also be tasked with performing other duties or special projects as needed, contributing to the overall success of the sales team and the company. This position is designed for a dynamic individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and is willing to travel at least 50% of the time, which may include weekends. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of sales expertise, creativity, and the ability to adapt to various customer scenarios, ensuring that Newly Weds Foods remains a competitive player in the food and ingredient industry.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue new business opportunities with new accounts conducting presentations, business reviews, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Make sales calls to current customers to promote new products, check inventories, conduct sales meetings, and assist with problem resolutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree, Bachelor's Preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales or a related area - food / ingredient sales a huge plus.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Must be willing and able to travel at least 50% of the time - can also include weekends.
